Invisalign®
Invisalign treatment is the movement of teeth with a series of clear retainers* that must be worn at all times except when eating or brushing your teeth. Invisalign straightens your teeth without brackets or archwires. The straightening of teeth is accomplished with a series of clear aligners customized to your diagnosis and treatment plan. They are very discreet and hardly anyone will know you're straightening your teeth.
The techniques used by Invisalign were first developed by Dr. Jack Sheridan at LSU. Dr. Wright has personally taken many courses from Dr. Sheridan and has been treating patients with this method since 1982. Invisalign was established as a company in the mid 90s and has developed computerized technology that has advanced the possibilities of treatment with aligners.
Complex movements can be difficult if not impossible with aligners. At the initial consultation, Dr. Wright will be able to determine if your condition can be managed with Invisalign. If it's right for you, we will make a 3-D computerized scan of your teeth with an I taro scanner ( no impressions ) and combined with photographs and radiographs, diagnose and plan your case. This information is then emailed to the Invisalign manufacturing facility and a temporary plan is made for your treatment. Dr. Wright will then modify the plan to your specific needs. Invisalign, using 3-D advanced computer graphic technology, will construct for you the aligners needed to achieve the desired result.
Each set of aligners is worn for 10 to 14 days and only taken out to eat and brush. As you place each aligner with the next, your teeth will gradually move until the final positions are attained.
To ensure the best possible results only an orthodontist who is been trained and certified by Align technology should diagnose and treat using Invisalign. If you want to learn more about Invisalign and how it works please visit the Invisalign home page.
